The school's Student Government Association (SGA) held its annual International Dinner to showcase cultures and cuisines from all over the world. From the cafeteria to the Kenney Auditorium, students filled the rooms with an appetite for food and company. Tables were lined up along the cafeteria with student clubs waiting to serve delicious foods to their classmates, over 200 of whom attended.
Student clubs representing interests across the school organized a vibrant program of dance, music, and refreshments. Attendees enjoyed presentations from clubs including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Russia and Eurasia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Canada, Latin America, American Foreign Policy, the association of students from South Asia, and the Africa Association. In addition to buying plates with their allotted event tickets, students were given a single green ticket used to cast their vote for the best plate of their choice.
As the talent show began, many students shifted from the cafeteria to the auditorium to cheer for their classmate presenters. Groups and individuals took part in a friendly contest over the best act, from dancing, to singing, to showmanship. At the end, students voted by applause for their favorite acts. The tradition continues to be a rewarding part of the Johns Hopkins SAIS experience.
